With a focus on capital deployments in high quality creative content and partnerships with gold-standard talent, Access Entertainment has helped bring more than XX productions to screen and stage. Access Entertainment is led by Danny Cohen, former Director of BBC Television.
In 2018 Access Entertainment acquired the Theatre Royal Haymarket, the third-oldest working theatre in London and internationally recognized as one of the world’s great historic theatres.
Access invests in live theatrical productions on Broadway and London. These have included Hamilton, School of Rock, Hello Dolly!, Carousel, Groundhog Day and Three Tall Women. In the last two years, productions co-financed by Access have won eight Tony Awards and ten Olivier Awards.
Early investments include: a co-financing deal with Warner Bros on films including Wonder Woman, It and Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One; equity investment in television production company Bad Wolf led by Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner and currently in production with a landmark adaptation of His Dark Materials starring James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Live Theatre Production
Investments include three of the four current top Broadway shows – Hamilton, Moulin Rouge and To Kill a Mockingbird. Productions co-financed by Access Entertainment have won eight Tony Awards and 10 Olivier Awards.
Television and Film
The first television and film investments were a co-financing deal with Warner Bros to produce films including Wonder Woman, It, Gravity, Birdman, Godzilla, Mad Max: Fury Road, Dunkirk, Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One along with 76 other major motion pictures.
